Free Publicity For Your Business

We all crave publicity for our business and when it doesn't dent the bank balance then all the better.
We can all spend hundreds or even thousands of pounds on advertising but do you know if you will get a decent return on investment?
The answer to that question is invariably no. So where does this free marketing come from?
The Business Press Release
I've found that the press release is such an under used source of free marketing and that is such a shame as it can really boost your brand.
Whether you've got a product to launch or a recent project to promote a press release can be a great starting point in your marketing plan.
Local Exposure
Why not contact your local newspaper and see if they have a particular section you could feature in. Or even better than that make yourself available for an interview or photograph.
I've had great success with this for a number of client's and it's a tried and tested method for many companies.
National Exposure
Beyond the local paper do you receive any trade press, magazines or newspapers, that are specific to your market.
A niche market publication could get you or your company directly in front of those businesses you are trying to target.
Here's a list of all UK local and national newspapers.
Free Online Press Release Services
There are many free online press release distribution sites that specialise and these can give you some return. The ones of value though do cost money. If you have the budget then it's well worth using these services to gain greater exposure for your business or product.
Here's a list of free online distributors and my choice of paid distributor.
Do stay tuned as in the next few posts I'll be telling you how to write an attention grabbing press release.

Hey good blog, the posts really appeal to a non-techie like myself. Looking forward to the next piece on writing a press release as always looking for ways to do some relatively cheap or even free marketing. Mel
