We all crave publicity for our business and when it doesn't dent the bank balance then all the better.
We can all spend hundreds or even thousands of pounds on advertising but do you know if you will get a decent return on investment?
The answer to that question is invariably no. So where does this free marketing come from?
I've found that the press release is such an under used source of free marketing and that is such a shame as it can really boost your brand.
Whether you've got a product to launch or a recent project to promote a press release can be a great starting point in your marketing plan.
Why not contact your local newspaper and see if they have a particular section you could feature in. Or even better than that make yourself available for an interview or photograph.
I've had great success with this for a number of client's and it's a tried and tested method for many companies.
Beyond the local paper do you receive any trade press, magazines or newspapers, that are specific to your market.
A niche market publication could get you or your company directly in front of those businesses you are trying to target.

There are many free online press release distribution sites that specialise and these can give you some return. The ones of value though do cost money. If you have the budget then it's well worth using these services to gain greater exposure for your business or product.
