Liveblogging #drupalcon: Badge and T-Shirt Collected - Ready To Go

Drupalcon London

I've just visited the venue for this years DrupalCon, collected my badge, programme, t-shirt, wrist band and Batman Live ticket, so we're ready to go!

Liking The Jam style tshirt very much.

All that's left to do now is to check through the schedule of sessions and nail down a final list to go to over the next 3 days.

Hopefully I'll see you there.

Don't forget to subscribe to this blog to get the latest news from DrupalCon 2011.

Drupalcon 2011 Europe Comes To London

Drupalcon London

Drupalcon 2011 Europe is coming to London in August and we can't wait. The week of the 22nd August sees all things Drupal, code sprints, Drupal theming, modules, parties! heading to Croydon in South London.

It couldn't be easier for us as we're just a short drive, with the top down, to the venue. There's going to be plenty of opportunities to meet some key players in the market and discuss Drupal all day long. My girlfriend will be happy to have a break from Drupal this, Drupal that talk!

Tuesday 23rd August sees the opening keynote from Dries Buytaert, the original creator of Drupal. Day 2 opens with Tom Standage author and digital editor of the Economist followed on day 3 by The Stanardistas, Christopher Murphy and Nicklas Persson.

Great iPhone Running Armband

Belkin DualFit Armband - iPhone 4

As I've stepped up the running since the football season ended I was on the look out for an armband to hold my iPhone. Having read various reviews of armband screens cracking or not allowing access to the screen properly I picked out the one I wanted carefully.

The great people over at Mobile Fun supply some cool iPhone 4 accessories and they were happy to send me the Belkin DualFit Armband to review.

First impressions were good, the phone fitted snuggly into the sleeve so there was no worries of it popping out again during a run. The next test was to try using the phone whilst in situ, this being an important aspect of the armband. I was wary of reports of other armbands not allowing you to use your phone but the Belkin passed the test with flying colours.

I've used it twice and can safely say the plastic cover seems quite flexible and doesn't look like it's going to crack either, which is a bonus. The armband comes with a secure velcro strap with two eyelets, one for muscle bound hunks, the other for the more lithe arm.

6 New Drupal Modules To Check Out

Drupal logo

I've selected 6 new Drupal modules below that caught my eye when scanning the modules list.

From those picked out I'd have to give special mention to two modules, CSS Live and Webform A/B Testing.

For web designers and themers CSS Live lookers particularly useful allowing you to not just edit the CSS but save it at the same time. So no need to go back and forth between Firebug and your CSS files saving time.

The second module which looks really attractive is Webform A/B Testing which allows you to spilt test forms and determine winning conditions. When those winning conditions have been met the winning form is then shown to future visitors to that form.

Makak Media Helping Drupal Flourish

Drupal Association Member

We've recently just joined the Drupal Association to show our commitment as Drupal developers to make sure we do our best to help it grow and improve. In doing so we are also helping our clients who use Drupal to make sure their sites use the latest functionality of this cutting edge system.

The Drupal Association is an organisation dedicated to helping the open-source Drupal CMS project flourish. We help the Drupal community with funding, infrastructure, events, promotion and distribution.

We are looking forward to getting even more involved with the community, whether that's answering more questions in the forum or adding patches to modules.

Just in the last month we have contributed our first module, sponsoring the development of the Ubercart Multiple Purchase Discounts module. The first of many to come out in 2011.

5 New Drupal Modules To Try

Drupal recently launched its' redesigned theme and logo, which was about time, along with some new functionality and restructuring.

One new feature of the modules page is being able to filter the results by date, allowing you to see the latest modules available for download.

This inspired me to pick out 5 Great New Drupal Modules to share with you. I hope you like them.
